Plot Synopsis
Brad and Kate meet and fall in love on Christmas Eve at the movies, munching popcorn in an empty theater, each avoiding their dysfunctional families. Realizing the root of their happiness lies in avoiding family gatherings, they invent elaborate lies about why they have to miss Christmas year after year!
This year, they’re heading for a secluded island in the Maldives on an "emergency business trip". But when the airport is shut down and all flights cancelled, they are caught by Kate’s mother and reluctantly accept an invitation to a dreaded family dinner. This single commitment begins a chain reaction, and with no other choice, they agree to visit each of their parents….
